Ok, I get it, they're 24-yr old, young "adults" out having fun and supporting a former teammate who they played with at UF (Coach Urban "All In" Meyer) and don't realize at the time that they made a mistake and should have thought better.  What young 20-something here hasn't done something stupid and regretted it??

Now, it's time to accept your actions, apologize and move on.  Maurkice "gets it", Mike doesn't seem to.  It's a shame.  I hope Philbin addresses it today privately with him and tells him to act like an adult and a professional ball player.

He shouldn't have to apologize or address it.  Who cares?  He's a football player, let's ask him about his day at practice, not about what he wore on his head 2 weeks ago.

Was it dumb?  Yes.

Does it make him an evil person?  No.

Does he have to apologize for it?  ABSOLUTELY NOT

Similar to (not the same as) the hub-bub on the web about Kaepernick wearing a Dolphins' hat to some party.  Who gives a crap?

It was dumb and in bad taste.  I'll bet he'd think twice about wearing that hat if the victim was a relative of his.

It was in poor taste and he should apologize like his brother did. Until he does this will be an issue that keeps getting brought up and continue to be a distraction

He is wearing a hat that is supporting an alleged murderer in Hernandez (who lets be honest has a mountain of evidence against him)!! If he wore a Osama Bin Laden hat would that be ok? Oh its just a hat right!  Roll Eyes

So you're comparing Aaron Hernandez to Osama Bin Laden?  Interesting.

They're friends, they played college ball together, and he probably thought it was a funny joke.  Its just a hat.  If you ask him and he says "good, I'm glad he killed all those people" then that's different.

Otherwise, I'm personally sick of people not being able to be regular people without having to apologize every 5 minutes.  People need thicker skin.  Its a HAT!

^^^regular people don't wear hats that support murderers (alleged but looking guilty) everyday. It's a story for a reason

It's a reason because, as a society, we are as over-reactionary as we are petty.

Saw some regular people on the boob tube with shirts supporting George Zimmerman (alleged, but looking guilty by the media and lynch mobs). I don't see where it matters until Hernandez is found guilty of something.

I don't think he owes an apology to anyone.  Talk about overly PC.

^^ yes, and I don't think reporters should be trying to make this into a story.  Report on football, not on fashion.

If he just apologizes (like his brother did) all of this goes away. Until he does it will be asked every day!

Not only did he use poor judgment in wearing the hat...he is a moron for not just apologizing and getting this behind him.
