The Phins do not stand a chance if the run game does not improve

A few days ago a friend of mine mentioned he had Lamar Miller on his fantasy team and asked for my impression. After holding back my internal chuckle, I said it depends on if our line can open holes for him. Well we all saw that was not happening on Sunday. The Dolphins finished dead last this week (I cannot imagine anyone putting up a worse performance toight) with 20 yards and averaging less than a yard per carry. Dave may have been right, our season may be over after the first game but it had nothing to do with winning or losing it.

That's what I was thinking too. Brady has been able to do well without a decent running game before for that very reason.

Some people asked me about drafting Lamar Miller in fantasy.  I told them to stay away, and yesterday we all saw why.

While we were watching yesterday, we were basically saying "Why even attempt to run?"  Our passing game was effective, our running was not.  You'd be better off with a 2 yard dumpoff than a 1 yard loss.

^^^^Agreed....we were content never handing the ball off as well. The running game was embarrassing.

It remains to be seen if we just can't open holes or if Cleveland stacked the line and are that good.  It's not like they were great on pass-defense.  It was just the run.  Maybe they were daring us to pass and we did???
