Was 2002.

They missed the playoffs and 9-7 for the season.

One of the most painful seasons for Dolphins fans.  A possible Super Bowl run thrown out the window.

Thanks for pissing me off...

2 minutes left with a 3 point lead and a RB that was running wild all day - and you call 3 pass plays?  And a terrible punt?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

There are many reasons why Wannstedt is villified in Dolphins circles.  This is a big one

the special teams crumbled.  Royals should have been cut long before that game

It called overthinking.  The obvious play is a run play, so the other team is going to send out the run defense package so take advantage of the DBs playing up close and throw the ball.  I have seen that Pats do that quite often.

And it makes sense to do that if you have a QB named Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino etc.  Doesn't make much sense if your QB is Jay Fiedler.

Are you kidding me? Fielder was the reason we were as successful as we were!!

I just threw up in my mouth a little.  Undecided

But he wasn't good enough, to warrant taking the ball out of the RB's hands when running out the clock.  You only do that with a truly elite QB.

And the last time the Pats were 16-0 they lost the Super Bowl. What's your point?

Actually the Patriots defense had been shutting down Ricky in the fourth quarter of that game.

I was being funny. Fielder was serviceable but certainly wasn't someone who you give the ball to when trying to win the game. That was my point.
