^^^^ They can't trade him this year. The deadline has passed.

Unless the Dolphins are really want this to drag out they will pay him for the remainder of the year.

Will he play again?

If he wants to, why not. All he needs is a team with solid leadership that values his services and winning over nonsense.

Could Brady, Peyton, Rodgers or Brees address their respective team mates and say, "Jonathan is a good solid player, that doesn't put up with childish pranks.  I am here to win football games.  So is Jonathan.  If you are here to act like you are in 6th grade, play the prank on someone else.  But leave him alone"

Is some team going to give you a high draft pick for him?  No.  But a late round draft pick in a trade at the end of the season or as a FA or off waivers I could see him playing again.

It would work.

Tannehill, Geno Smith, EJ Manuel and some others -- maybe not.

Incognito will be suspended by the league.

I think this may have to do with the NFL's (or Dolphins') inability to accept a gay player.  If this comes out, the Dolphins need to do some damage control and have a major embrace the gay community approach - like Eminem did with Elton John at the Grammys.  It will get spun off as a player and his team coming to terms with differences in sexuality.

BTW, I have no idea if Martin is gay.  I just think there is more to this than simple bullying.  And the sexuality piece logically fits.

I think that is pure speculation.  But if it turns out Martin is gay and that is what this is about, Miami is in for a world of hurt PR-wise.

If Martin turns out to be gay, this will be a firestorm the likes of which have not been seen in a while.

However, I think that's just speculation.  Not every football player is a mindless beast who solves every problem by punching it, and no one would even think of asking, say, a QB to solve his problems that way.

Absolutely.  It is pure speculation and I don't claim otherwise.  My experience with my schoolmates that ended up being gay was that they got overly teased and bullied.  Not so much because everyone knew they were gay, but because they were different while they were coming to grips with their sexualitiy.

All I'm saying is that logically looking at the situation, I wouldn't be surprised if this the ultimate development.

Not so sure about that. He won't play again this year for Miami. And I don't see the league adding another suspension on top of that carrying over into next year. I mean if Riley Cooper is playing for the Eagles this year I don't see how they can suspend Incognito. I may be wrong in the end but just how I see it now.

Did Riley Cooper threaten physical harm on a teammate and his family? It's not the same thing.

I know what WON'T make the story go away- local sports radio here is reporting that Cognito's father is ranting on Internet chat boards about the situation, and calling both Martin and Pouncey drug users and racial epithets. Maybe someone can find a link substantiating this if I don't. -EK

Incognito could be facing legal issues out of this.  I think folks are glazing over this issue.  This isn't something which will "go away" for him.  He very well may have broken actual laws.

I don't see how Martin ever plays in Miami again, but he will play again.

Martin is through in Miami and Martin will have trouble finding another team. Gonna be tough for him to be trusted in any locker-room (right or wrong.) Will be interesting to see if a franchise takes a chance on him. I think Indy is the logical choice but we will see.  Right or wrong I think that's reality for him.

Do you really see any teammates rallying around this guy? C'mon ... his own friends aren't even standing up for him. He may get picked up but he will never be a part of a team. He will fail miserably.

I can't help but think about a crying Manny Wright when I think of Martin. Those guys are not cut out for the NFL.

If Mike Vick can kill and torture animals, Donte Stallworth and Ray Lewis can kill people and they all have made a return to the NFL......rest assured the "Bully" Incognito will be back as well. Probably not with Miami but he will be back. He was a Pro Bowl offensive lineman.

This should have been handled in house period. Once the media gets wind it becomes a circus that takes months to go away!!!! Eventually it will be old news.....unfortunately not for awhile. I for one am sick of hearing about it.  Roll Eyes
