I really want to see Philbin stay.  Despite all the distractions and player injuries, the team is playing hard.  They have pulled together and I think the coaching staff deserves some credit.  It's important to remember that Philbin is only in his 2nd year as a head coach and we should expect there to be a learning curve.  Changing now makes no sense to me.

As for Ireland, I'm torn.  I agree with Pappy's assessment.  We are finding some talent in unexpected places.  He hasn't been great, but he hasn't been a disaster either.  I'm reluctant to make the change and find we have to start all over.  Like Philbin, Ireland is in his first GM job.  I know it's been 4 or 5 years, but the first couple were under Parcels and I don't think Ireland really had control.  Ireland has done some stupid things, but he's learning and I'd like to think he's getting better.

The people who want Ireland gone fail to realize if he is fired, they are just going to make Dawn Aponte or Brian Gaine the new GM and Ross will promote from within. This notion they will go get some big-name GM or sign someone from another team's front office staff...it's just not gonna happen.
