We have a bunch of weaknesses but our oline is the worst. Whoever is responsible should be fired today.

Hickey improved it greatly the first year but really ignored it this offseason. Using that 2nd rounder on a Defensive Lineman was very strange. Kid could be great, but our biggest need was not that.

Hopefully, the new coach and perhaps new GM will make it the top priority in the offseason.

This was a truly embarrassing loss.
I can agree with this. Truly embarrassing. But to mail it in 2 games in the season like the rest of you are saying?  That's pathetic.

It's not THAT pathetic given this team's history in losing games it should win. If we were the Pats, you might question it but understand they'll bounce back. The Fins have no history of that. Soooooo, that's that.

Of course you're right... Nothing ever changes. Everything that ever was, still is...and will be again. We live in a stagnant universe.

Oh wait, no we don't...change happens all the time. The only thing we can count on is that some fans will boo-hoo over a little adversity and give up two weeks into the season.

Juwaun James looks worse every game that goes by. Aside from Landry name a Hickey draft pick that has done anything (will give Parker some time due to injury so won't count that) to contribute? Fede is the only other guy really

Turner-Sucks
Aikens-Sucks
Tripp-Cut
Lynch-Cut
Thompson-Cut
Phillips-4th DT on this team, not a contributor
Hazel-never is active or will play
Douglas-Forced to play, in way over his head right now
McCain and Lippett--Total projects and years away

Not saying every pick needs to be a home run, but he isn't adding guys who contribute. Only a couple in 2 drafts. Need more in this league than that.

That is what I was trying to figure out how to explain

Anyway, I think the frustrating thing for me is that I can't be on the field or the sidelines to help change this

James did a fine job last year until we had to switch him around. He has definitely had a rough start to this season though. Today was a disaster for him in every way. It's almost scary to think what will happen next week.

The rest of "you?"  I'm sure you're not lumping me in with any group as you have absolutely no idea where I stand on the fate of this team because I haven't given any sort of indication here or anywhere else.  I haven't been one of the sky is falling crowds in the game time threads. I haven't called for anyone's firing (this season anyway).  I just called this loss embarrassing because it was true.  I'm still trying to cope with this shameful showing and rationalize this game in some way.

Miami Herald reporting Suh was ignoring the defensive calls today and doing what he wanted on the field which caused confusion among the other players. Hence part of the reason/problem and the poor result by the defense.

Maybe we should try listening to Suh because Kevin Coyle can't coach his way out of a paper bag. This defense has gone down hill for 4 straight years. It's not Philbin that has been dragging this team down, it's Coyle. The offense has gotten better 4 straight years while the defense has gotten worse. This offense could be one of the best in the league if the defense would pull their heads out of their ass.

This offense can't come close to the best in the league with the 2 garbage guards they have and a left tackle who looks out of shape and nowhere near 50% let alone 100%. Throw in a right tackle who is regressing and not progressing.  The Fins have above average skill position players but nobody to block for them. And this front office and coaching staff decided to roll the dice on Billy f'n Turner and Dallas Thomas. When Hickey and Philbin are out of work they brought it on themselves.

Tannenbaum has a lot of connections with coaches around this league (hell he represented almost all of them as their agent for years).....the next head coach must be the polar opposite of Philbin. Urban Meyer will probably be the pie in the sky guy as Ross loves him and Ross would love to hurt Ohio St by taking him away from them. I would have Jim Schwartz as second on that wish list and go from there. If Albert doesn't play next week (unlikely he will) against the Bills then against another strong defense in the Jets...this season could spiral out of control quick especially with how the schedule lines up. Philbin looks like a dead man walking

The fact they can move the ball at all with the lineman they have is nothing short of a MIRACLE. Yes as a whole they are awful, but they still manage to look good at times. Yes the offensive line WAS ignored this year because they you can't fix everything and they signed SUH and Mitchell to FIX THE DEFENSE, remember? The only unit playing worse then the offensive line is the defensive line. What's THEIR execuse? None! They don't have one. And don't tell me that the defensive line is NOT playing worse then the offensive line. When you consider who they are playing against, they absolutely are. They should be destroying these offensive lines rather than making them look GREAT! It's time we all face the facts that what I have been saying for 2 years is spot on, this defense is just plain BAD and MORE responsible for this teams inability to become a playoff team than the offense has been.

They should have replaced Coyle last year. Just about anyone could have done a better job with this defense then he's done.
