Laremy Tunsil, Jarvis Landry, and Minkah Fitzpatrick are Pro bowl selections. In other news Dolphins were shut out and Devante Parker said he won't play even if gets picked to be an alternate as it's all "political".

Fitzpatrick is the only one that deserves to be there.  Parker has better numbers than Landry, and Tunsil is the most penalized tackle in the NFL.

Tunsil? Joke of a selection. Landry has over 1,000 yards now so I guess that's good enough, I don't check out the stats of the rest of the league because I don't care but Tunsil is ridiculous.

"Those grapes are most certainly sour, and I never wanted them anyway."

What is a Pro Bowl LT worth in today's NFL?  You would think fans of the Miami Dolphins in the 21st century would have more appreciation for the value of that position.

My point about keeping Tunsil was not that he was the best LT in the league, or even a Pro Bowler... it was that he was a solid, reliable player that you didn't need to worry about upgrading.  You don't need Patrick Mahomes at QB, David Bakhtiari at LT, and Khalil Mack at DE to go with Xavien Howard in order to win a Super Bowl; you need solid players on manageable contracts to go with a couple of superstars on the rest of the team.

Everyone in the league makes the trade that we did. We got two 1st Rounders and a 2nd for a solid LT with 2 years left on his deal. You can't pass that up. They also took Kenny Stills who we did not want to pay anymore. Considering Tunsil's play this season, it was absolutely the right choice.

Do you think HOU regrets making that trade?

If MIA were to attempt for another team's Pro Bowl LT, do you think they could do so with the picks they received from HOU?

Very interesting question.  One that will of course never be answered, but it would be interesting to hear closed door conversations within Texans management about how they feel about the trade at this point.  Tunsil is solid, although way too prone to penalties, and Stills has around 35 catches for around 500 yards this season.  So he hasn't exactly set the world on fire over there.

Once they are bounced from the playoffs and it's time for the 2020 draft?

Yes.

Yeah, they will as soon as they lose in the 1st round of the playoffs. I don't care what popularity contest Tunsil won, he didn't play at a Pro Bowl level this year with all of his penalties. He is a very nice LT but not the best. If it were just one 1st Rounder I would say no regrets for Houston, but two 1st Rounders AND a 2nd rounder? Forget about it, of course you make that trade.

Texans made a move for him like he was the one missing piece and they were going to the Superbowl. That appears very unlikely right now and they got some good luck to even make it to the top of their division.

I don’t see trades in such a binary manner.  It was a good trade for both teams.  Houston felt he was the missing piece for being a playoff caliber team.  Dolphins weren’t making the playoffs with or without him.

Yes.
Do you think HOU's front-office believes they could draft a better LT than Tunsil with those picks?

Even more to the point: do any of you think MIA will get a better LT than Tunsil with the picks they received for him (or maybe just with other picks)?
Or do you, perhaps, believe that LT is not a position of significant concern?

I believe Miami can get three starters for the price of one, which makes it worth it.

Also worth mentioning, Ryan Tannehill would be going to the Pro Bowl if he had started since day 1 with Tennessee. he is slowly becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the league. The dolphins had their franchise quarterback, and they gave him away. This team is clueless...

That is a stretch.  Watson, Jackson, & Mahomes are all better than Tannehill on a per game basis. But decent chance he goes as an alternate.

^^^ Yes it may be a bit of a stretch, that he goes in front of any of those players. But my point was just that he is a very solid quarterback that the dolphins just gave away... This team just needed a few more pieces. And their offensive line to be healthy.  They let the young stars we did have on this team get away. Now they have to rely on draft picks and rebuild. Horrible strategy!
