He left an everlasting mark on the NFL, helping build four championship teams including the Dolphins (so maybe this should be in the Dolphins main chat?).

Beathard retired in 2000, and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

He was always well respected and one of Don's buddies. May he Rest in Peace

On a side note it's really weird that they retro changed the name of the Redskins for the article. Just seems weird to me. Beathard became the general manager of the Washington Commanders in 1978

Would you be also bothered by the sentence  Harry Wismer was the first owner of the New York Jets?

He never owned the Jets, he owned the NY Titans.

How about the statement Hailey Beiber was born 11-26-1997.  Her name was Baldwin at the time.

1) Yes, it should say that Wismer was the owner of the NY Titans, if they want they could add that it was the precursor to the NY Jets.  Just as they could have done with Beathard.

2) No, names of individuals is totally different, whether it's married names or stage names or pen names.  Whether it's Samual Langhorne Clemens or John Couger IMO you should use the name that was relevent to the topic that is being discussed.  If someone asks me who sang "Jack and Diane" I'm going to say John Couger, if someone asks me who wrote "Tom Sawyer" I'll say Mark Twain.

Much respect to Bobby Beathard...he seemed like he was top-shelf when it came to GM savvy.  RIP, Bobby!

I was always a little sad that his great-grandson, C.J. Beathard, never panned out as "the next great 49ers QB."

You're such a troll and we keep feeding you. I certainly don't think of the Titans when I think of Bum Phillips or Warren Moon and I don't think of Johnny Unitas and his great years with Indianapolis. And lastly I certainly would never ever say Don Shula was traded from Indianapolis to Miami. Why? Because none of those things happened even though they are the franchise today.
