I see a lot of complaining about that call.

And while I agree that it's unfortunate that a game between two great teams has to end because of some bullshit, that was 1000% a late hit out of bounds and would be called 100 times out of 100 at any stadium in the NFL.

The contact was late to begin with, but in addition, the player got frustrated and gave an extra push, a good 5 yards out of bounds.  It wasn't close.

The optics were also bad that it was icy on the ground, so both players slid into the bench, resulting in injury.  Not to mention (this shouldn't matter), but it happened to the biggest name in the sport who was already playing hurt.

You hate to see games end like that, but it's on the players not to do it.  The ref has to call that.

Here's an explanation of the other questionable call

100% the right call, anyone who's complaining is a sour Bengals fan who just wants to bitch.  Even without that penalty they were still 1 play away from Butker slamming the door on them.

Late hit was right call. I guess the replay of third down was the right call but pretty sketchy. Either way Mahomes was sacked on the ensuing play. But officials flagged Bengals cornerback Eli Apple for holding in the defensive backfield, a penalty that granted the Chiefs a fresh set of downs. That flag should have stayed in the refs pocket and no one would be making a big deal today. Holding calls get mised all the time.

Mahomes exaggerated but it was 100% a late hit. Maybe his flopping sold it but the defender was an idiot for even trying it.

I don't think it's fair to say Mahomes flopped.  Both players went down from the contact and the Bengals player was injured from slamming against the bench.

and no one cares about the coach that cracked his skull against the bench and then got landed on by a 250 pound linebacker.  Poor guy...

I have zero issue with the call, it was 100% correct.

It was a dumb play by a guy from what's consistently been one of the most undisciplined teams in the league for years (going back to the Marvin Lewis days). The Bengals made a number of equally dumb plays all game resulting in penalties that cost them, that was just one.
