He was in the running to be the Cardinals HC but I guess they told him no, which was the right thing to do since that whole franchise is riding on Kyler Murray and his questionable attitude. Him and Flores would've been a disaster.

Flores should never become a Head Coach again but he would make for a very good DC.

Cardinals didn’t tell him no. In fact he had to call them today to cancel his second interview which was scheduled for tomorrow. It’s been said coaches are balking at having to deal with their Prima Dona QB so Arizona’s options may be limited.

He was a good HC for the Dolphins, it's just that 10-6 and 9-8 weren't good enough to make the playoffs.

He had a good defense but his offense was bad and he would never hire decent coaches. That all falls on him. Add in to the fact he didn’t get along with GM and Owner and he’s a bit toxic. I think this DC thing should do well for him but as of now he is not a good head coach.

He’s a good defensive mind so good for him but he screwed us hard and not easy to forgive.

That wouldn't be too shocking, his production does not match his attitude and that contract is an albatross if he doesn't perform at MVP levels.

I think another factor is more jobs would be filled and they can't wait for the Cardinals to complete their long process and have other jobs fill up. Vikings DC is a very nice landing spot.

I think this is a good move for him.  Rarely does a 1st time coach go from being fired directly to be successful.  However, going back to OC/DC allows the coach to learn and grow.

It's also OK to be great at a job and not great at a tangential job.  It's a similar, but not exact skillset.  If he's a great DC, be a great DC.  That's enough.

I disagree.  He took over a team in complete rebuilding mode and did as well or better in his last two seasons than McD did this year with a more talented team.  You can't blame him for not hiring decent coaches, what great coaches would want to come to a team in full rebuild mode?  I agree he didn't get along with the GM and owner, but part of me can't blame him for that if those guys want you to lose games on purpose.  Wins and Losses go on the coach's record, not the GM's; no one asks what a GM's win/loss record is.
