COSTA MESA, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Chargers and quarterback Justin Herbert have agreed to terms on a five-year, $262.5 million contract extension, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday.

The deal comes a day before the Chargers open training camp and keeps Herbert, 25, under contract in Los Angeles through the 2029 season. The deal includes a no-trade clause, $133.7 million in full guarantees and $193.7 million in injury guarantees.

For him to not get every cent, catastrophe has to happen. He will make $52.5 Million a year on average. Burrow is next and then Tua if we're all lucky and he has shown himself worthy.

Silly nonsense. They should somehow implement a salary cap by positions

He is but he puts up the big yardage numbers and "top" QBs rarely hit free agency, so it is what it is. At this point, whoever is the next young QB to hit free agency will be the highest paid QB. Joe Burrow is going to beat this amount and hopefully in the next offseason, Tua will have done the same. I say hopefully because that means he killed it this year and is our future.

Until a QB wins a Superbowl they ain't worth shit (apart from the bums on seats in stadiums)

I think that's it.  Grin
