LOL ... I know. I hate when people use it but was feeling kind of smart arsey. Honestly ...  I  have no delusions of ever changing anyone's mind by anything I say in here about politics. Not even a little. My political responses are typically just to kill time until I'm doing something else.

American conservatives consider "science" to be just another form of politics.
They have to, since most "science" contradicts many of their political preferences.

Evolution, historical geology, climate change, medical masks, vaccines... conservatives have a constantly growing list of rejected science.  This very thread is an example of conservatives trying to pretend that the last century of mask use in medical settings was all a hoax because masks obviously don't prevent the spread of disease.

(I say "American conservatives" because conservative movements in many other countries have not been taken over by the religious right like they have in America.  Conservatives in, say, Europe are therefore able to remain focused on more traditional pillars of conservatism like low taxes, misogyny, and racism, which are not directly related to science per se.)
