Premise: A 40-something, recently divorced woman finds herself Internet dating for the next Mr. Right.

Rating: Bad.

Maine reviewed this movie way back.  He trashed the crap out of it.  Scar Man rated it highly.  Going off of both of those, I gave this a try.

Normally, I like romantic comedies like this, but it was especially bad.  It had all of the bad things going for it: scene-by-scene predictability, some stock characters, overacting, a heavy reliance on musica; transitions to tell us how we're feeling, cliche after cliche, etc.  However, it had something even worse than that -- they spent so much time making John Cusack this interesting, deep guy, that they forgot to write any character for the woman.  She's boring and by the end, pretty deplorable.  I didn't want her to get the guy, because not only did she not deserve him, but even if she did, they weren't right for each other.  He was this philsophical artist type and she was ho-hum.  (With a capital HO.)

There were one or two funny lines, and there were some subplots and characters that I did like, but overall, the basic concept of the story didn't work at all.
