Congrats Junior!  It is scary to think of what he might have done had he been healthy his whole career.

Brian and I went to the Marlins/Reds game Saturday night. I was hoping I'd get to see it

Easily, if Griffey had not been injured, you would be talking about Aaron's record being shattered PLUS one of the greatest hitters and base stealers of all time that could play any position.

Congrats to the Florida fans, or lack of them, for making #600 look like a mockery. I could faintly hear a golf clap as he rounded the bases and on the  'curtain call'.

Thats what I am saying. The team is competitive and that is nonsense that a team comes into town with a guy riding #600 and they can't even get a half full stadium out of it ?

They need to contract that team, pronto.

Yeah, and if they had a stadium that fit 5,000 people they still couldn't sell out. Its a joke.

Mike has a very valid point here.  Florida has a exciting young team with one of the (if not THE) best player in baseball.

Florida ranks dead last in attendance - and by a lot.  They average 14,846 per game.  There are AAA teams that draw more than that.  34-29 and, yet, the league's worst attendance.

Seattle is the worst team in the league at 23-41.  They are already almost 20 games under .500 and 15.5 games out of first.  They outdraw Florida by 13,000 fans a night and average 28,241.

That's kind of sad.

I didn't agree completely with him, I said he has a point to be heard.  The Marlins will self contract at some point if there isn't any improvement.  The Expos had better numbers than this and couldn't make it.  We'll see what happens with the 'new' stadium.
