Favre wants simpler Jets offense

Brett Favre, in a radio interview yesterday, indicated that he spoke to coach Eric Mangini yesterday about trying to pare down the number of offensive plays in order for him to get comfortable as he crams for the start of the season. "I had a long talk with Eric," Favre said on 1050 ESPN Radio. "I don't want to think, I want to react. There's got to be some middle ground there. That's what we're trying to find. I'm trying to get as much digested as possible. "A lot of times you can make this as complicated as you want to." Favre indicated that the goal is to "simplify" things and "use the guys to the best of our ability." He said the Jets' offense "is totally different" from the Packers system he was in the last 16 years. "Some of the terms we used in Green Bay we use here, but they mean something totally different," he said.

In other words he wants carte blanche to be able to run around back there and then use his "magic arm" to throw through 6 guys and maybe hit his receiver without being intercepted.Like I said before,Brett is a tough guy and a great competitor, but he better get his head in the playbook, this is New York, and they won't put up with alot of INTs there like they did in Green Bay,The fans and the media in NYC will be calling for his head if he screws up.I know you think I'm hating on Favre, but just watch most of his highlight films, his receivers bail his ass out ALOT on some pretty poorly thrown balls. He had some pretty solid teams surrounding him up there and only won 1 super bowl.

"You - go to the mail box and cut left.

You - run straight.

You - go to the dog bowl and swirl in.

The rest of you - block.  I'll throw to whoever is open.  If no one is open I'll run it myself.

It's on three, on three.  Ready?  Break!"

-what it feels like to be in the huddle with Brett Favre.

I still think that the Jets and Brett Favre are headed for disaster.
