"fail forward fast" has to be the most ridiculous of all team building/leadership statements I have ever heard in my life. TDMMC should re-open the web store and put together an addition to those corny leadership posters with a "fail forward fast" version...
I believe the source is team-building guru Tom Peters.
Regardless of who said it, I certainly agree with the underlying principles (as I understand them, anyway). It's a question of TRYING without FEAR of FAILING. Too many people in all professions take the safe, conservative path for no other reason that fair of failure. The point in "fail forward fast" is that you reward people who try, while punishing those who don't - even if the latter in a specific case is more successful. You learn more from your failures than your successes and getting those failures in early (i.e. fast) is crucial.
