http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/highschool/recruitingcentral/

There's the Sentinel's page on NSD - there's also a searchable database link on there.

Also, here's a link to the ongoing blog

Wow.  Denard Robinson looked like a sure lock for the Gators, but they lost him and his buddy to MICHIGAN??  Rich Rodriguez is really making a play for high school kids in these parts.  He was able to sweep up a handful of them at WVU.

From Sanford Seminole

Ray-Ray Armstrong and Dyron Dye both signed with Miami today and Andre Dubose signed with Florida.

Adaris Bellamy, RB  5-9   214   4 star recruit
Jason Pierre-Paul, DE  6-6  265  4 star recruit
Kyrhi Thornton    DT   6-3   300   4 star recruit
Jacquain Williams   LB   6-4   220   4 star recruit

Well, the smoke has cleared, except for a few stragglers.  UF racked up a top five class.  FSU swept up enough talent to continue their rise to the top.  Of the 21 guys that signed with them, 16 are from Florida.  UM got some serious talent from South Florida.  They dominate that area, regardless of how many schools try to come in there.

Ok people who don't care don't hijack the thread. Recruiting is the lifeline of any major college football team. Coaches are still scrambling to keep their classes intact or to add a few extra gems. I love NSD and if your anyone who follows football in the south, midwest, and the west coast can relate.

Tommy you want some news on USC, they could land one of the top LB's in the state of Georgia in Jarvis Jones and one of the top players in Dade County in Frankie Telfort. I'm all for Pete Carroll owning the west coast, but he's starting to migrate into the south.

I'm looking forward to all of the coverage on Wed. Canes fans what's the deal on Bryce Brown? If you spend $9.99 on his website you can find out.lol

Sure it is the lifeline, but it is also a huge crapshoot as many supposed 5 and 4 star recruits cannot handle college. I personally want to see how they develop after a season or two.

You're absolutely right.  A lot of 5 star players are the "Big Fish in the Small Pond" and then can't handle being a "Small Fish in a Big Pond".  It is a crapshoot, but it's also based on filling needs as well.

I will say this, FSU needed to bulk up both it's lines and get a kicker with a good leg and did all that today.

Man, we took a hit today. The snake Lane kiffin stole 2 of our recruits at the end. He's going to get his ass kicked in sept by urban. Seems alot of guys who decomitted from us are afraid of competition. Jelani jenkins didn't need any promises of playing time, he wants to come compete and earn his spot. We only got 16, but 8 of those were in the ESPN 150. LSU and Bama closed great.

Looking forward to 2010.

That's the problem with being a national championship contending program.  Some guys on your radar easily slip away because they know they might not play right away.  When another coach from a lesser program promises playing time, they'll bite.  UM and FSU had the same problems in the 80's and 90's, respectively.

"Billy Bob, if you go to Florida, you'll never start.  They have so much talent that they could win the SEC with their third stringers."

How many times have you heard of other coaches saying that?

Turns out Lane Kiffin is not very familiar with NCAA rules on recruiting.
