Anyone watching the show this season?

Last season, it got a little "out there".  ...too convoluted and weird.

But it's back to basics this season and REALLY good so far.  Anyone watching?

First two episodes (of the "second half" of season 4) sucked.  Straight soap-opera crap; longing glances and secret fathers and blahblahblah.

Third episode is really good, though.

I tried to get caught up on DVD, but I just couldn't get into this show. Maybe I'll try again.

I've tried catching up on previous seasons of BSG on sci-fi.com, but have only had enough time to watch 3-4 early episodes so far. I like what I see though, and plan on catching up eventually. Grin

A DVD would definitely make it easier...

I still need to catch up on last season first. Liked the first two seasons, although not as much as I had expected, but last season the things that annoy me about the show just overwhelmed the things I enjoy. I think I managed about the first 6-7 episodes. And, no, I'm not counting last years half-season as last season Wink. That's season 4 just like this season.

This season seems more convoluted and weird than any previous season.

All the dead bodies on "earth" are cylons? Starbuck died on earth as a cylon?  The cylons in the fleet have memories of being on this planet?

Adama let discpline decline that far?  Doesn't seem likely.

Gada, always the good soldier from day one, leads the mutiny?

I watch, and I'm enjoying.  Wondering where it's headed, but enjoying.

The first two seasons of BSG are pretty awesome.  As soon as they pulled the cheesy "1 year later..." gimmick at the end of season 2, the show took a dive.  It's still decent, and I'll finish watching it, but there's a clear gap between the first half and the second.

One thing is apparent, though: the writers never, ever planned to get this far.  The plot has more holes than a net made out of swiss cheese.

I wasn't considering the 1st half vs. 2nd half of season 4.

Whatever the last few episodes were, were good.  Especially this last cliffhanger.  I think they're back on track with this cylon technology/mutiny story arc.

I was talking about the first half vs. the second half of the show (Season 1-2 vs. Season 3-4).
