Steelers WR Santonio Holmes played a great game but did not deserve the MVP imo... Ben Roethlisberger was robbed of the MVP..... the game winning drive that Big Ben lead was Montanna/Elway like.... Roethlisberger is one of the most underrated QBs ever to play in the NFL.

I agreed with the choice on Santonio Holmes, and so did Ben Rothlisberger on espn last night. Smiley

I think Ben is hugely overrated. He relies heavily on his defense and running the ball 8000 times a game.

After the drive I said Holmes deserves it but thought it would naturally go the the QB. I think they made the right choice.

Funny ... after all of the QBs that get it undeservedly so I thought Big Ben earned it ... and i was rooting for Arizona.  Had he not made numerous plays when most would have been sacked they wouldn't have even been in the game. It was his outstanding performance that allowed Holmes the opportunity to catch balls. Ben legitimized himself last night ... if there is such a thing.

I thought Holmes deserved the MVP award...but wouldn't have complained at all if Ben had won it.

I think that Holmes was the best choice.  He had some big catches down the stretch.   Ben played well, too, but I think Holmes won the game for them.

Ben was speaking to the espn guys after the game and after the NBC coverage was over.  He said he thought that the final TD pass was going to be a pick when he threw it.

And it would have been if Ralph Brown hadn't had a brain fart.

The QB is not the reason the team wins.  He's 1/11th of the team.  I like when guys not named "QB" win because their play earns it.  The QB is always the default choice, and it sucks.

Holmes deserved the MVP - he made one of the most amazing catches in super bowl history - TO WIN THE GAME.  Not to mention the big catch-and-run to get them down there in the first place.  He deserved it, stop downplaying his accomplishment.

I thought the Steelers should have nominated Rodgers-Cromartie as he had to have one of the worst performances by a db ever.

After CF's comment, I'd give Ben more consideration because he did make a lot of plays with the scrambling.  I thought Harrison should have gotten it before that last drive and amazing catch by Holmes.  Harrison made some big plays--beyond the TD--and he whipped the LT's ass all night.  How many holding calls did he cause? 3 or 4?  I thought Holmes really played beyond himself though.  I'm fine with Holmes selection.  Where the Hell was Hines Ward?
