I see both as being equally ridiculous...but I also understand that when people are down on a QB, Michael Vick is a really easy trigger to pull. Wink

The only problem is Brian is a Vick fan so it wouldn't be a put down.

That's even funnier... Vick still has fans?

I'm not a Vick fan - hush your mouth.

I'm speaking from the common sentiment.  Everyone rags on Vick and says "he's a good runner but a shitty QB."

That's Tebow in a nutshell.

Since everyone decided that Vick is a terrible QB, I can't understand why these same "everyone"s are praising Tebow as the greatest QB in the history of pigskin.

I don't think that Tebow and Vick are the same.

Vick is a speed guy.  Tebow is a lower-your-shoulder guy.

Plus, Tebow can throw alright.  It's not like he's just a runner.  I don't think he's going to be a great NFL QB or anything, but I don't see many similarities to Vick.

My fault. You sure defend the guy enough and even have stated you would take him in Miami. I just figured you had a number 7 jersey laying in wait.  Cool

I think he's objectively a better player than you all give him credit for and I think calling him a "shitty QB" is unfair, but I am not a fan of the guy.

Tebow is a lower-your-shoulder guy.
So was Herschel Walker in college.  His first NFL carry he lowered his shoulder and tried to run over Brad Van Pelt.  He was stuffed.   Not sure if it's a valid comparison, but I don't think an every down QB will last very long in the NFL trying to be a power runner.

Maybe not a power runner, and I didn't say it would work.  I was just illustrating some differences.  I don't think that Vick and Tebow have that similar a style of play.

I made the comparison in that they're both QB with suspect passing skills who run more than they pass.  Nothing further.

Stroke has my point exactly, much of a QB's success comes with where they end up.Steve Young didn't do squat with Tampa Bay,neither did Favre with Atlanta.Say what you will, but I really don't think even Joe Montana, who was hot and cold at Notre Dame, would've achieved greatness had he not landed in Bill Walsh's system.Tim Tebow is a great athlete with an even better attitude and will have tremendous upside wherever or whatever position he plays.

Jon Gruden thinks Tim Tebow will revolutionize the game of football, and that he can throw as well as any other QB in the NFL.

Tim Tebow is the biggest hack ever on the planet. The ONLY REASON (ONLY REASON) why he is good in college is because he is BIGGER than the rest of the kids - and he still sucks at throwing. He's going to get killed in the NFL with his stupid "jump pass" and his stupid wildcat formation (how did that work out for the Dolphins after a few games?)

Tim Tebow - biggest NFL draft bust in history. Bigger than Ryan Leaf. Trust me on this one.

Gott agree with Jtex on this...mostly.  Tebow won't be running over people in the NFL.  There's a reason the option isn't popular.  If you have a cannon for an arm but can't read, you're shit.  It's a little late in the game for him to learn how to play QB.  Tebow would work in the Wildcat but I'd rather have Pat White (or Eric Crouch).  Maybe he ends up with a good team in a good system which will make him better but I think Tebow will be marginal at best.  NFL>NCAA>HS.
