This is ridiculous.  People are WAY to sensitive about minor stuff like this.  Who knows maybe Montoya had a Taco for lunch that day.

I'm white and I love tacos...we have em once a week! Smiley

It's not so ridiculous.  Colombians don't eat tacos; that's a Mexican dish.  It pisses Latins off that people can't tell the difference, and most Americans think all Latins are Mexicans (or Cubans here in Miami).  It's kind of like telling a Brit to go enjoy a tasty schnitzel.  I really don't give a rat's ass one way or another (I'm half hispanic), but most of my fellow Americans can't point to Brazil on a map, despite the fact that it's oh, I don't know, 40% of South America's land mass?

In the global world we live in I bet plenty of Colombians eat tacos. Lord knows you don't have to be Mexican to eat a Mexican dish.

I once ate a Colombian taco...

So did I, along with drinking a Colombian beer.

I've even given someone a Colombian necktie once. (j/k)   Grin

The sensitivity thing is something I think is way out of control in this country, however, Bob Griese has been a commentator long enough that he shouldn't have let his guard down like that.  The fact that he's Bob Griese is the reason he only got one game.

On a sidenote, as I had not even heard about it until I read it here, is there even the slightest remote possibility that Juan Pablo Montoya was actually eating a taco at the time?

Montoya's a goofball and I'd actually pay money after watching him in NASCAR all this time to see what goes on in his head.  The guy should have like 10 wins and maybe even a cup title by now, yet he routinely chokes his ass off.

Another sign that we're much too sensitive and PC as a society. On ESPN Sunday NFL Countdown today, Ron Jaworski and Lawrence Taylor were squaring off on "Which is the better city, New York or Philadelphia?" After comparing fans, food, landmarks, etc..., Lawrence Taylor hit Jaworski with a "Are you punchdrunk? Did I hit you too hard?" in his wrap-up. In a perfect world, Jaws would have (should have) been able to respond to Lawrence with the perfect:

"What, are you on drugs?"

This isn't a perfect world though, it's a world of decision-makers who are as scared of their own duality as they are of losing money, should their honesty cause offense. I think I'll go downtown today and see how many lawyers I can bitchslap before I get arrested.
