From Adam Schefter's twitter..."Don't be surprised if the 49ers put in a waiver claim for LB Shawne Merriman, who would like to play in Baltimore, Miami or Dallas."

I wouldn't be surprised to see the 49ers end up with Merriman...though I'm not really sure that he's a huge need for that defense.

I wouldn't want the guy in Miami.

He is way too injury prone. We already have an injury prone LB in Crowder. Not to mention the guy clearly is "on something" (the failed drug test a few years ago proved it). That body-type he has doesn't last long in the NFL.  He can't go through 17 weeks. Let alone the 20 the NFL wants to expand too. On top of preseason, mini-camps..etc.

He wouldn't be worth the headache

whats wrong with you people I want him. fresh start, hes healthy now, line him up next to Dansby & noone will run on us. QBs will be forced to burn our seconday .... wait a minute...
