I can't find his name.  I'm assuming it's the guy on the practice squad right now?

They just released him to make room for Merling.

Quick, let's deal a high draft pick to get John Beck back!

I think they let Ramsey go in favor of the other guy because he's younger, and possily groom him for the future in case something happens with Henne. He's an undrafted rookie I think.

I don't think they would have let Ramsey go if they didn't need the roster spot for Merling.

He was with the Bronco's last year although I'm not sure whether he was drafted or not and I'm not sure if he actually made it to the roster or just the practice squad.

Oh. Well then why let Ramsey go and keep this guy? I thought he was a rookie this year.

Ramsey's been around too long to put on the practice squad.  The only reason why Brandstater's still around is because they can stash him on the practice squad until needed.

Well he's about as close to being a rookie as you can get.  Ramsey is an old vet that was really brought in just in case he had to play right away.  Now that Henne is back starting and Thigpen is backing him up, the 3rd guy is for emergencies only so it can be some guy that you are trying to groom.  He's probably getting paid next to nothing too which they probably had to pay Ramsey more simply because he's been in the league awhile.

It all makes sense, I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about him.  I didn't even know his name, had to hunt it down.
