While we're on the subject of Peyton Manning, I'd like to bring up the state of the Indianapolis Colts.  From what I can see, this group has grossly underachieved.  This is the ninth year they've had a great roster and they have very little to show for it......  one Super Bowl Trophy and too many choke jobs by Peyton Manning or the defense in the playoffs. 

Most of the talent on this roster is aging.  The question is, what do you do now that your team is clearly on the decline?  If I'm <Colts GM> Bill Polian, I'd trade my aging vets to a contending team for draft picks.  I'll bet Minnesota would pay through the nose to get Peyton Manning under center for a few years, and a team that just came up short and needs help at wideout would love to have Reggie Wayne.

I don't keep track of most other than the Pats.  But Manning's has been in the news from time to time.  Amazing how the press kept spinning that Brady was "unhappy" in NE speculating that Brady would go elsewhere with a new story almost every other day up until he signed the extension.  But you hear almost nothing when Manning is refusing to even discuss his contract with the Colts.  Other than an occasional story that assumes there is absolutely no question Manning will be a Colt.

When the owner and GM has promised that the quarterback will be the best-paid player in the league and the player has never expressed any desire to leave... well... who's going to make news of that?

Peyton Manning has said he doesn't want to think about his contract while there are still games to be played. They'll do the contract once the season ends.

As for the Colts underachieving... I disagree. They are a very delicate team, in that they have some amazing players, but the drop-off is down-right scary. Injuries can and will derail their chances at a SB most years.

You do realize that this team has been hammered by injuries this year. The offense has no running game and its recieving core is not as stellar as years past. It can be said Peyton is trying to do too much to carry the team.
