If this new owner wants to keep the team in Jax and energize the fan base, there is one move he could make that would do it...... make a trade with Denver for Tim Tebow.

I've never heard Ross being accused as too big a fan. If anything, he has been called too much a business man.
Huh? The music star stuff. The flying across the country and destroying your coach. The idiotic predictions about Henne and other stuff about the team. Most of that really has more fan behind it than business. I understand the "star" thing being about money but I still believe it wouldn't have seemed so cool to him if he wasn't starstruck.

Looks like Norv Turner as well.

Chargers would be my first choice if I was a coach.  They have loads of talent and with better coaching they would have won a SB or multiple SBs turning that time span.

A Pakistani native just bought the team.

This is really bringing out the idiots. Check this NFL.com comment by "wickyp":

Lets just hope he is truly legit and a percentage of team revenue isnt going under the radar to fund alqaida trainig in the Pak. read his bio though and no red flags so far. and it would be good PR for the middle eastern/west asian community.

( source: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d824cef5e/article/nfl-finance-committee-supports-khan-as-jaguars-owner )

I don't even know where to begin with shit like that. He read through the guy's bio and "no red flags so far"? OMFG... and, by the way, if the guy has three quarters of a BILLION DOLLARS lying around, why would he want or need to use an NFL team to funnel money to terrorists? Seriously, that's moronic, even for random Internet comments.

In any event, the fans in Jacksonville seem to have taken to their new owner, with the overwhelming concern being whether he moves the team (which he has said he won't).

I read on another board that the Jags are contracted for at least 10 more years with Jacksonville. Not sure how true that is, but its something

The stadium lease runs until 2029 (!) and is supposedly "tight". However, a lawyer involved in negotiating that lease said the owner would have to pay the city of Jacksonville about $90 million to move (link).

To me, that sounds like peanuts when considering the money involved and that the team "only" cost $760 million. A team in LA could easily be with significantly more than a billion dollars. The most recent Forbes list had half the teams in the NFL at or above $1B, with the 'Boys in first place at $1.8B. The Forbes list had the Jags in last place at $725, which is reasonably in line with the purchase price.

I don't get the love with LA. Am I missing something? I mean ... it sounds good in theory but how many teams have to fail there to prove it won't work? Heck, their storied baseball team can't even succeed. What's to think football version 3.0 would work?

I guess people are taking to the new guy even going to sporting his trademark mustache.  It's all fun and games for now but I really hope he brings in a coach with some character.

Because this time they are doing it right for football, not making the teams play in the ghetto (The Coliseum) and having fans take their lives in their hands getting to and from the stadium. They are building it next to STAPLES CENTER and building up the LA LIVE district. Making it something special. AEG has huge money behind it. If you see the blue prints of not just the stadium but the entire area around it its amazing. They want to break ground in 2012. Have a team by 2016 and then have the 2017 Super Bowl. It will have a "deployable roof" which they can put together on the ground and put over the stadium for certain events and if they don't want a roof for certain events not use it. So for all football games it will be a TRUE open air stadium. But if they want a political convention or a Final Four they put together the roof and just have the stadium have a roof that way. Much better than a retractable roof. Same general concept just cleaner looking and much better all around.

A Pakistani native just bought the team.  Is anyone but me interested in how this will work out? I mean, Jacksonville is south Georgia. I know it's not right but I'm concerned this will not go over as well as a Muslim coaching in Tampa. I know it shouldn't matter but I'm thinking it just might.

Of course there will be some negativity. There are certain elements in politics and media who have demonized a whole religion and over 1 billion of its follows as evil.
