Hilliard is now an UFA.

Now, I seem to remember that last year, when Miami let their FB go, this was purportedly "proof" that said player sucked and that Hilliard was good.  I wonder if the same standard applies now?

I think this has more to do with drafting Charles Clay last year and him playing well in limited time last year. Clay is the future at FB for this team.

I think Clay is goint to tight end and the guy we brought in from the CFL is going to play full back.

Clay is a true H-Back who will probably be our starting FB and play TE in certain situations.

The CFL guy probably won't make it past the first training camp cut unless he shines. He has a terrible contract and Miami gave him nothing. He is a training camp body

Hilliard has never impressed me, an okay player, but nothing special.

Players who "suck" don't typically end up in New England

Not necessarily.  One team's trash is often New England's treasure.

Well, Ochocinco is starring prominently in a Reebok commercial, so he must be bad ass.

I'll take a ratio of 1.5 botches (too soon for Ochocinco) every decade or so.  Not even a discussion how frequently NE finds a diamond in the rough

NE has had its share of underperforming players.  Thing with NE is typically their bust aren't all that expensive, spend a fourth on Moss spend a fourth on Haynsworth.  One roll of the dice hit the jackpot, one got cut.

That is a far cry from drafting a guy in the first round and not have him work out.
