ESPN reporting Matt Flynn will fly from Seattle to Miami to meet with the Dolphins on Friday.

Flynn is currently in Seattle. This might be Flynn's agent putting this story out there while they are still in Seattle to get the Seahawks to panic, up their offer, and stop Flynn from taking another visit and giving him what he wants. Who knows. Wouldn't be the first time that has happened in the NFL!

I think Flynn is going to be bummed that the market isn't as good as he thought.  If I were Flynn, I would be cautious with Seattle.  Carroll's leash may not be all that long at this point considering his win/loss ratio in a crappy division.  Philbin will at least get a pass for a couple of years if he doesn't get it clicking right away.  New coaches usually mean new QBs.

I think Flynn planned on traveling to Miami no matter what.  At the very least Philbin would be throwing Flynn a bone by not giving him a could shoulder and scaring off the rest of the league.

What- realistically- can Miami offer him in terms of money, if they rework a few contracts? Likewise, what SHOULD he be offered? I think the Kolb contract last year is going to scare a lot of people out of big deals for back-ups. -EK

Flynn's market has never really moved in reality. He is going to make low-level starter money. If hew as going to make a ton or elite money, he would have had it Tuesday when FA started.  Miami can pay him low-level starters money as can Seattle. If you word the contract like Arizona did with Kolb after 1 year you can get out and not have a huge cap hit. Like if Manning picks (picked) Arizona they would cut Kolb tomorrow before his roster bonus is due and not take a huge cap hit.

The Kolb contract was a fair contract. It's not crazy money he got. Flynn probably will get near that, I would be surprised if its more unless Miami and Seattle get into a bidding war now and come off as desperate.

I might be dead wrong but Flynn picking a team will come down to 2 things...

1) Money
2) Who "hands" him the starters job. Will Seattle make him compete with Tavaras Jackson? Or will they hand him the job. I know Miami will hand him the starters job. What Seattle does I have no clue.

P.S....the thing people fail to see when they bring up Kolb and compare Flynn to him is this. In Philly Kolb was a "west coast offense" QB and had some success when he played in limited time. In Arizona they don't run the west coast offense which is why he struggled. He was in a whole new system. Flynn is coming from the GB West Coast style offense, which Miami will run and Seattle essentially runs with a minor twist. Flynn won't struggle like Kolb did. Flynn might not be a superstar but he won't struggle like Kolb.
