So.....someone explain this to me. I've read a couple of times that Bush needs to really "prove himself" this year in order to not get traded or be able to get an extension or something along those lines.
-----------------------

That is the first I heard of that. Remember, any idiot with a computer can write their opinion. I am a firm believer some of the guys like Mike Florio or Jason Cole just write crap and throw it against the wall to see what sticks and enjoy upsetting the fan base.

There is a cost concern with Reggie, which is where the "prove it" concept is coming from.  He comes with a heafty price tag and was worth it last year.  The problem is that last year was a surprise.  Nobody thought he could be the feature back, or at the least, nobody thought he could stay healthy as the feature back.

It isn't that he isn't worth having on the team.  The problem is that if he wants feature running back money, he has to be reliable.  One year perked up our ears, but a second year would be convincing.

We have a few things in our favor when it comes to Bush.  1st, we have other options that are already on our team and drafted a guy with a similar skill set.  2nd, running backs are not the money pits they used to be.  I don't think we need to use our psychic powers on him and would be fine waiting it out a year to see where his true value is.

This is purely an issue of durability and dollar signs.  He can have all the talent in the world and it means squat if he can't stay on the field.  His skill is not in question.  I am rooting for him because I think he is good for the team and the town.

^^^ Really? I always though Daniel ran through tackles and everything last year. I may have some bad memory problems, but I always thought when he played, he always got about 5 to 10 yard gains on most runs.
You have some memory problems. Houston was really his only good game with 3 of 18 runs going for over 10 yards and 7 more going for 5-10. The very next game against Cleveland he had only 6 of 23 runs of 5 yards or more and against Denver he had only 4 of 19 runs for 5 yards or more. Overall he had 46 of 167 runs of 5 or more yards (27%)

Over 10 yard runs (12)
Houston (3)
Jets Away (1)
Denver (1)
Buffalo Home (1)
Dallas (1)
Oakland (2)
Buffalo Away (2)
Jets Home (1)

5-10 yard runs (34)
Houston (7)
Cleveland (6)
Jets Away (4)
Denver (3)
Washington (4)
Buffalo Home (4)
Dallas (1)
Oakland (3)
Buffalo Away (1)
Jets Home (1)

0-4 yard runs (109)
Houston (8 )
Cleveland (17) - Holy crap he got a lot of carries against Cleveland.
Jets Away (8 )
Denver (14) - And against Denver too
Kansas City (6)
Washington (12)
Buffalo Home (10)
Dallas (4)
Oakland (7)
Philly (5)
Buffalo Away (7)
New England Away (2)
Jets Home (9)

Runs for loss (12)
Jets Away (2)
Denver (1)
Kansas City (1)
Washington (1)
Buffalo Home (1)
Oakland (1)
Philly (2)
Buffalo Away (2)
Jets Home (1)

For comparison Bush had 87 of 221 runs of 5 yards or more (39%)

Over 10 yard runs (33)
Between 5 and 10 (54)
Between 0-4 (110)
Loss (24)
