Sounds like the team is split on this.

I will say this, some of the reporting on Hard Knocks from the likes of Florio and stuff, you would think this is the 1st ever time the show has been on the air. Numerous teams have done this for around a decade now, never an outcry like this of negative press.  The Ravens did it, the Cowboys did it, Jets, KC, ...etc. Nothing. Miami does it and the sky is falling.

One team is gonna be on the show every year and now when a team does it, there is an outcry. What, did they think the show was or is going away? I don't get the negative backlash to it in the press.

Moaning and groaning because they can't just toy around all the time.  Oh no!  I can't be a goofball because the camaras are on me.

Whatever.

^^^ Just the opposite.

Groans because it will be distraction and players are going to be more of a goofball because the camaras are going to be on.

Doubt it.  Apparently you haven't heard much on typical locker room behavior.  The camaras will be keeping them more accountable.

Would anyone want a camera crew following them around all day at work?  While their professional career may be in jeopardy?

They're in the NFL. Cameras follow them everywhere. If they didn't follow them "at work", we would never see them play (work).

Nope.  Cameras only see them play on game day, very limited coverage at practice, and media exposure during the week is minimal during the season.  Hard Knocks coverage is an animal of completely different stripes.

I'll go even a step farther. How would you like for your job to be scrutinized on trial? Many of us have seen what they do to detectives and CSI people and it isn't pretty. I don't care who you are it's probably pretty easy to come behind anyone and criticize how they did things. I can't imagine having a camera there to document it. It would suck.

With that said I willl watch every episode.  Grin

Have you guys watched the show?  It isn't like the camaras are being hidden up their butts.  The show follows some story lines, but it isn't an evaluation tool and it isn't presented as such.

The players will be just fine and probably even better off.

Maybe Fasano doesn't want people to see him rocking out to the song CALL ME MAYBE with the "Night at the Roxbury" head-shake! lol

Came out this week that Philbin gets to view the episodes of HARD KNOCKS each week the morning the show goes on the air that night. And if he see's anything he doesn't like, he can have it removed from the episode.

Something HBO hasn't let all teams do in the past.

Peter King reported months ago (before Miami was "selected") that teams always have some degree of editorial control. It's always been that way.

Not saying that the mechanism hasn't changed, but the principle has always been in place.

Well I will be a 1st time watcher of this show, starting this year. In the past I just didn't care and also I didn't have HBO (I only have sports packages I pay extra for).

This year I have HBO & Showtime so I can see the Dolphins on Hard Knocks and the Marlins on The Franchise.
