I am loathe to even address such an obvious point, but since I guess more than the usual expected person might need this pointed out:

Do you think that when black people say the n-word to each other, it carries the same intent as when white people said it to them 100 years ago?

The entire purpose of language is to use words to communicate ideas.  The belief that intent doesn't matter and that it's somehow a specific configuration of letters that we should find offensive is among the dumbest things I've ever heard; by this absurd logic, calling a person a n***** is bad, but calling them a n*gg*r is just fine, because you didn't technically use that word!

Intent is all that matters.

The "N" word is just another in the long line of hypocritical double standards that colored people feel entitled to. The BLACK community and entitlement organizations would go ape shit crazy in the street like a bunch of savages if whites suddenly formed the same organizations for themselves.
