Can we at least all agree that if Dan Carpenter costs us this game again he will be released?

^^^No. I'm against cutting guys for onfield issues without a valid replacement.  Kickers sometimes go through slumps.  Would you cut a RB or QB because of a bad game or two??

I would not go that far, but unless he is lights out (85% or above), he definitely gets competition in the off season. In fact, I have briefly looked over the kicking crop coming out of college and there are some good talent coming out.

Honestly, Carp had 1 great year and everything else is average. The worst part is from what I understand the Fins are on the hook for a couple mil.

I'm always in favor of bringing in competition, regardless of the starter's performance. Carpenter hasn't been terrible, but he needs to hit more 45+ yard kicks and his kickoffs, while solid, aren't stellar and certainly don't outweigh any accuracy issue.

Cut him if he costs us the Jets game? Absolutely not.

Looks like Carpenter atoned for his previous mishaps with his performance today.
