IMHO, this is week is pretty much a must win for the Fins.

If they lose to Jets the Jets will basically be two games have two more wins than the fins.  4 wins vs 3 AND the tie breaker.  And likely two games behind NE as the Rams are a pretty week team.

Congrats on your win. It was a VG game and maybe the best I have seen Sanchez play. I don't keep up with the formula to make or not make the playoffs, esp. this early. It give me a headache. lol But, your theory makes sense.

I don't think anyone in Miami really "expected" to be in contention for the playoffs, but after losing 2 games with missed FG's got everyone thinking they could be 5-1.

Dolpins could very easily be 5-1 or 1-5.  They only had one convincing win and one convincing loss.  Patriots are three plays away from being 7-0 and one play away from being 3-4.

I was just about to write a post about this, but you beat me to it.

I agree with you.  For the Dolphins to have a realistic chance of making the playoffs, they must win this game.  Of course they are not statistically eliminated with so many games left to play, but the road would be unbelievable hard.

This is a great test for a young team, and I think we will know a lot more about this team after next Sunday.

I just cannot get over the parity in the league. It is unparalleled. Being in a U Pickem pool make it easy to see week in and week out. The only true dominant team seems to be Houston.

Atlanta, while unbeaten has won some close ones. The Broncos, Raiders and Panthers all could have and maybe should have beat them. IMO, they are not as good as their record.

Even the bottom feeders have been very competitive and only a play or 2 from being a winner.

Which is a great thing for the sport.  All four fan bases in the AFCE are still rooting for their team to win the division. Ussually at this point in the season at least or more often two of them are already looking at next year's draft prospects.

Plus it has made for some great games.  While in many ways I perferred the NE-Bills game to the NE-Jets game. The NE-Jets game was a much more exciting game to watch.

Anyone know what the record is for the number of overtime games in a 16 game schedule? It seems we have 2 or 3 every week. Most exciting season EVER! Now if only the refs would keep their flags in the pocket just a little more. lol

IMHO, there is no such thing as a "must win" for a team that's not expected to make the playoffs. Any win from here on out is more groundwork for the upcoming Dolphins Dynasty. Now their opponent on the other hand....

I don't see this game as a "must win"....i mean in reality what NFL game isn't "must win" really.

Also, even if the Jets beat Miami tomorrow. I could easily seeing this Jets team going on a 3 or 4 game losing streak at any time between now and Week 17. I could easily see Miami going on a 3 or 4 game winning streak as well. And if Miami ends the year 1 game better than the Jets then the tiebreaker is meaningless.

Sure tomorrow is a big game, and its a big division game, but a loss isn't the end of the world or the playoff hopes for Miami by any means. Not this year in a weak AFC. And not being behind a Jets team that isnt very good and has had many up and down moments and struggles for long periods of time on offense this season.

It's a big game but its not "DO OR DIE" type. Win or else. Let's not blow it out of proportion.

I'm with you. I've said that the best thing for us is that our QB plays well but our kicker, or someone else for that matter, comes up short. Same thing for the Colts. I finally have expectations for this team but not necessrily for this year. With that said I expect Tanny will have a couple of more bad games this year so I'm just happy with whatever positives we show.
