I've always said it was a great move.  The numbers prove it.  Nice job by Jeff Ireland here.  He raped the Colts on that trade.

I'm just sad that he won't be playing this week.

As a player you shouldn't show up to camp out of shape and dogging it, especially when there is a new coach.  Given the value they got for him it was a no brainer.  Smith has really played well, and I hate to say it but Carroll is much improved so far.  Is it coaching, more dedication, or the opponents???

What I like best is Ireland can recognize a mistake and try and salvage as much as possible from the situation. We saw it with Marshall and Vontae. Every G.M. has misses, but at least we got something from the deal. IMO, that is better on holding onto someone that is not working out.
