10th most popular NFL team according to The Sports Business Daily Harris Poll

Combine this with Tannehill having the 6th best selling jersey in the league and the Fins popularity is moving in the right direction nationwide

I wonder if hard knocks had something to do with this.

I'm surprised Tannehill's jerseys are selling that well. He wasn't featured much in Hard Knocks and isn't spectacular in any way. He's playing some decent football, sure, but he's not an established star, nor flashy, nor is he lighting it up.

I'm thinking a little Hard Knocks along with the team is winning a little more and while not an elite NFL team they also aren't a laughingstock of the league type team either. Tannehill is a promising young player who is gaining a little bit of a following....I think its a bunch of small factors combined for the recent rise in popularity.

Tannehill can't have the 6th best selling jersey in the league.

I have it on good authority that the new jerseys are Horrible And Stupid and Everyone Hates Them.

People are sheep. They are buying into the new jerseys to fit in. Even I almost bought a new polo with the new logo a few weeks ago and I do not like it at all. Carried it around Dick's for about 45 minutes and then returned it as I was heading to the register. I couldn't make that jump just yet although I did purchase a hat with the old logo.  Tongue

He's the face of our team and his jersey is the most available one out there. If you are upgrading changing to the new jersey then it's likely his you will be buying.

Tannehill can't have the 6th best selling jersey in the league.

The article doesn't say he has the 6th best selling jersey in the league.  It says he has the 6th best selling jersey on NFL.com.

Hypo:

200 people by Tannehill's jersey from NFL.com; 50 from Dolphins.com & 50 from the Dolphins proshop at the stadium.
150 people by Rodgers jersey from NFL.com; 500 from Packers.com & 2000 at the Stadium.

Tannehill comes out ahead on this report, even though the total Jerseys sold is much less for him.

This might only mean Dolphin fans prefer NFL.com over other sources more than fans of other teams.
