Filed under "The Fantasy Gods Laughed"... I had Calvin Johnson rolling in my point-per-reception fantasy league, and he put up an insane 50 points during the early action today. Unfortunately for me, my opponent decided to cover two of his bye week players with:

WR Marvin Jones:  8 receptions, 122 yards, 4 TDs (44 points so far)
RB Andre Ellington: 128 rushing yards, 1 TD (22 points so far)

Only Flipper Anderson had more receiving yards in a game (336) against the Saints in 1989.  Only the 5th player to break 300 yds receiving all time.

Insane.

I laugh because, before the game, Dez Bryant was flapping his gums about how he is "just as good" as Calvin Johnson.  Dez had 79 yards on the day.  No, you're not.

Jerry Rice is the only WR I've ever seen that I'd say was as good or better than Calvin. Jerry didn't have Calvin's insane physical tools, but was by far and away the best ever at the "craft" of receiving. No one was more meticulous in their preparation or their study of the opposing defense than Jerry.

How about Stafford running that two minute drill.  However, I saw that quarterback sneak coming.  I remember a 2001 game between the Ravens and Titans where Steve McNair (RIP) tried something similar.
