Fixed that for you. Don't even pretend you know what's best for the Dolphins. I'm not even sure that if you did know what was best for the Dolphins you would really want that. What's best for the Patriots is for the Dolphins to crash and burn.

If you can't compare a locker room to a working environment, you're doing it wrong; a locker room is a working environment.

A locker room is a very special working environment. You can compare a brothel to a board room and you'll find a LOT of differences even though they are both working environments. Doesn't mean what works or doesn't work in one will work or not work in the other.

And commentary from others sound like people who were never part of an organized athletic team. Having a coach ask a team member to help toughen up someone is not uncommon or unheard of. The extent it was taken may be out of the norm, but that message happens a lot.

Sounds like that to me too. Having played sports from the time I was able to walk up until my Freshman year in college I seem to have a very different perspective on this than most here.

I also find it very interesting that while most seem to think the NFLPA will jump in with both feet on this issue, they seem to be taking a VERY cautious approach to this. I haven't read everything from today's events yet, but up till yesterday they didn't seem to want any part of this. Seems to me that the NFL and the NFLPA want to keep a lid on this, only the media seems to be lighting a fire under it.

Cops and firefighters do. Do they engage in these same hazing practices? (maybe they do I'm not sure)

Not most of your everyday people but the elite "teams" like SWAT, narcotics and Hotshots sure do. I workout at the county gym meaning sheriff and fire dept work out there too so I've developed many relationships with them over the years. Some of those guys are absolutely nuts but then again ... that's what it takes to do their job.

If you want to see crazy things amongst friends then get involved with an alpha male team in pretty much any setting.
