half right in terms of the refs is what I meant
Your free to post and create threads as you have been, but it would be good form to NOT make a SOTG thread before a game is over.  Exceptions include:

Tearing at the refs/Goodell
Blaming a fan in the stands wearing a speedo or wearing a Cleo Lemon jersey for our misfortune
EK and Edge
The groundskeeper
Commentators.

My Shame of the Game goes to Mike Sherman for his shitty play calling again.  Fact is the defense had to score points for this team to win tonight.
They might not have had to if they could stop a 3rd and long play.

Dalton was 6-8 for 150 yards and 1 TD on 3rd and 8 or longer. The TD was nullified by a holding call. He had 1 incompletion and was sacked once on 3rd down - to end the game.

Our 3rd down D was atrocious. Just can't allow opposing offenses to dig themselves out of that many deep holes. Yeah. I get that AJ Green is hard to cover and that he runs very physical routes... but still. And he wasn't the only one getting wide open on 3rd and long.

I'm loathe to give it to our Defensive Coordinator (Kevin Coyle) when the D overall did very well, but this week, he gets it anyway.

I have real mixed feeling about this call to be honest.

Grimes was the wrong match up on Green to begin with, just physically too big and his cuts after the catch were causing him to lose footing. Coyle then made the switch that payed big dividends - Patterson to Green, interception (on an admittedly poorly thrown ball). Grimes to Marvin Jones, interception TD (on another admittedly poorly thrown ball).

Immediately after the pick six I thought the defense might be in danger of being worn out by another long drive, and that's exactly what happened. Somehow Grimes wound up on Green again and he started converting third downs, then Patterson went off and we had no other choice. The defense looked completely spent in the fourth quarter, but somehow held the Bengals final drive to a FG, then held and came up big in OT on Coyle's blitz calls.

Shame of the game for me was the 20,000 or so fans who didn't show up for the game.

Big Thursday night Halloween broadcast and the top tier of the stadium looked almost empty. Even from halfway around the world, it's not a good look.

It's Halloween people might have stayed home with their kids, I wouldn't get too worked up over the attendance on this night
