Mike and Mike were discussing this story yesterday. Golic's wife called in and offered to buy the tickets so the woman wouldn't have to sell the rings. -EK

The ring is from a previous marriage.  The story headline, while technically true, is misleading.

It's like if I was interviewed for a story titled, "Man has to sell off grave plot of military son killed-in-action to avoid foreclosure," and it turned out that I happened to own a grave plot of some unrelated veteran (who was necessarily someone's son) that was KIA in WWI.  It's all true but if the details were clear, no one would care.

You are correct this isn't "The Gift of the Magi."  But you do have two happy couples:  One is giving her husband a great 40th birthday gift and the other is getting engaged.
