Going for it on 4th down in the 4th quarter was obviously 100% the right call. Nantz and Simms wanting to punt made no sense. With all back-up's in at CB we couldn't give Brady the ball back.

Also, the 2nd half adjustments really showed this week. Miami made the necessary changes on offense in the 2nd half. And using the timeouts late in the game on defense to settle the defense and calm them down those final few plays was also great coaching and the right thing to do

Yeah, I have to agree on this one. I was still annoyed at the lack of blitzing on the final drive and giving Brady all that room for his Welkerish receivers, but overall I think it was a nice job. The timeouts were key.

Nantz is an idiot. Yeah, lets give Brady the ball back with 3 minutes left with our backup corners and tired defense. If Philbin did that, he would return to his office with a pink slip in hand.

Going for it was clearly the right call. I was confused that the commentators thought it was best to punt it. Thank goodness I wasn't the only person to think they're nuts.

Yes it was clearly the right decision, and idk what Phil Simms was thinking.

I always thought Phil Simms was an idiot anyway.

You can never overestimate the ridiculous conservatism of color commentary.

For example, listen to Brian Billick advise the Seahawks to kick a field goal while down 6 with 44 seconds left in the game.

Hmmm.  Glad I was watching with no sound at the bar.  It was a no brainer attempt for a 4th down conversion.

For the record, I also think it was the only time they should have gone for it in the game.

The only thing that makes any sense is Nantz and Simms didn't realize that Grimes was done for the day and that Carroll was less than 100% out there. But still, made no sense to punt with that much time on the clock

Even if they were healthy I still wouldn't have punted. Not at the end of the game against Brady.

I agree with the going for it as well. The defense was reeling at that point and Brady would've milked the clock on them

I loved the call to go for it and as soon as Simms said they should punt I yelled at the TV for him to shut the hell up lol.
