Not to take anything away from Thomas, and a GW interception of Tom Brady is certainly a keepsake for a guy that wasn't in the league a week ago, but:

On 4th down you should knock the ball down.

Grimes said after the game he is OK and should be able to go next week. His wife said online that he pulled his groin and will play next week

Normally, yes, and certainly when the alternative is to pop it up into the air, but on this specific play, it seemed like the safest thing was just to catch the damned ball.

My niece could have caught that ball it was so easy. Knock the ball down is the rule of thumb on a Hail Mary which this was nothing close to.
