it's like adding the 10 point half court shot to the NBA just like they used to have in those MTV Brick Layers vs. Violators games

stupid rule in my opinion if they do it. End of the game down by 3 a team could drive to around midfield area and then start to kill the clock by taking a knee. Kick a 4pt FG to win. Takes all the excitement out of the game
So what do you propose we do about games in which a team is down by two?

Do nothing. Keep the rules the same. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

All FG's are worth 3 pts seems to be working, there is an incentive to get close to make the kick easier. By inventing a 4pt FG will screw things up in my opinion and change the game in a way not for the better.

But currently, teams behind by two will drive to around the 20, then start running the ball into the line to kill the clock, so they can kick an excitement-killing FG.

Coaches in the hyper-conservative NFL currently see a two-point conversion from the 2 (to win the game) as incredibly risky and reckless, electing to kick an extra point nearly every time.  But you're saying that with the chance to get closer and kick a chip shot to tie (or score a TD to win), teams will start backing themselves up for a 50+ yard GW attempt?  That's MUCH more exciting than today's alternative, without a doubt.

Man it would really drive the game into oblivion..................... .........

And I'm starting to like that, actually.

Sure drives fantasy football players nuts during a season
