 ... or even a bad injury like Romo based on the crappy O-line play ... do you think we would make the offensive line a higher priority next year? I ask this because it seems like in the last 10 years we have been in the bottom of the league. Ok ... I just looked and let's say that 11 is the bottom third of the league. Here is our last 10 years and where we fell in terms of sacks given up. Different administrations and different philosophies but yet we still haven't turned out a good O-line all the while trying to find a game managing QB. It doesn't make sense to me so someone please help me to feel a little positive about it.

Have a feeling the next head coach and GM will have to make the o-line a priority. Problem is the Fins will be cash strapped next year so no big-ticket items in free agency. And a lot of familiar faces who contribute will be gone (Miller, Wake, Vernon, Grimes....all won't be gone but a couple of those will.)

Fins have invested in the draft on o-linemen but have just whiffed. Turner-Whiff (he is terrible), Dallas Thomas-Whiff (he is terrible), James isn't a whiff but probably wasn't a 1st round talent/pick and is an average o-linemen and has a low ceiling.  2 of those guys can't play and aren't NFL players and the other is a JAG. Very average.

Comes down to making smarter picks and wiser picks. Jordan Phillips in Rd 2 this year was a luxury pick and not needed. And he might turn into a star one day, but that was the wrong pick in the wrong  year. That 2nd round pick should have been a guard or a linebacker and there were talented guards and linebackers there, so its not like they had to reach on one in those positions, that wasn't the case.

I guess my biggest gripe is they keep reaching and failing instead of going after what they know. they keep trying to outsmart everyone else and losing.

Not drafting for the Line in the 2nd round was almost as big of a mistake as not going for Mathis. Whether they whiffed on the pick or Mathis sucked, you have to show that you recognize the problem. They still have not.

I hate playing the coulda-woulda-shoulda game, because hindsight is always 20/20, but I see one serious doozy from a few years back. In the 2013 draft, when Miami traded their #12 and #42 overall picks to jump up to #3 to select Dion Jordan. If they had kept that #42 pick, regardless of who they ended up taking at #12, they could have totally changed this offense.

What Miami selected in the 2013 draft with its first two picks (#3 & #54):
#3: DE Dion Jordan, #54: CB Jamar Taylor

What Miami could have taken had they stood pat (#12, #42 & #54):
#12: CB Desmond Trufant, #42: RB Le'Veon Bell, #54: OG Larry Warford

So, remove Jordan and Taylor, who have amounted to absolutely nothing for Miami, and add one of the best young corners, running backs and guards to this roster.

Teams are built through the draft, and Miami really shanked the 2013 draft.
