THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: January 21, 2016, 07:59:30 pm »

The defense was ranked 19th in the NFL in scoring, 28th in total rush yards allowed for the season, and 21st in average passing yards allowed per game.

IS THIS WHAT THIS TEAM PAID SUH 114 MILLION FOR?Huh

This stat is more telling:

Miami was 27th in scoring offense this season with Tannehill under center.  And this is with a Pro Bowl receiver in Landry, a good running back, and a pro Bowl offensive lineman.  They were 26th in passing offense.

This is Tannehill's first Pro Bowl receiver he has had, I believe.

Is this what 96 million is worth?

This is why you guys hired Gase as coach.  He's resurrected a lot of careers at QB.

Technically they didn't pay Suh or Tannehill that much for 1 year, they paid them that much for the entire contract, so both of them have several years left to make good.

Our coaching was horrific, can't discount that. Had players openly revolting on both sides of the ball against the coaches, hard to just go out there and win without proper instruction, it isn't street ball.

Willing to give Suh another chance this year.

So there was 1 pro bowl line man (wasn't he an alternate?)... what about the other 4 guys? All the sacks? I mean, really?

Mike Pouncey was named to Pro Bowl but was replaced by Nick Mangold because his injury and couldn't play. The fact we had to two good offensive linemen and one decent one does not hide the fact we  pretty much had an open door between all of them.

^^^ I don't even know that we had two good linemen. The consensus here has pretty much been that Albert doesn't deserve his spot, even as a replacement. Pouncey, I think made it off his name. Remember, this is more a popularity contest than it is some sort of testimonial to skill. Making the Pro Bowl means very little in this day and time. Two entire teams of players are automatically disqualified from participation. Getting an All Pro designation is where things really matter and I bet the Dolphins don't have anyone even sniff that team.

Pouncey and Albert are both good. The argument can be made that they might not be Pro Bowl material but they both played well enough to be considered good enough to play on most if not all teams.

I'd say Albert is not dependable, but ok when "healthy" which is rare, and more than likely not going to suddenly hit the fountain of youth.IMO

With Albert missing the 1st part of the season, and Juwan James playing only 7 games doesn't help the line either.I'm not sure how good James is,because of so little he really played.

(I think this applies to most of the team) Pouncey I'm on the fence. Is he really good,or just seems good because the guys around him are so bad. Undecided

I'm not a Suh fan,and feel it a was mistake to sign him.(I'm going to bitch and bemoan about it now, unfortunately he's here.)

One could argue that it was because of these two that the team did as well as it did, and without them they would have finished 32nd in every category.  I can think of no other QB that has teken the beating Tannehill has taken the last couple years, and not missed a single game.

So you are telling me we have THREE probowlers on our offensive line?

Something is not right here.

I mean, I saw those sacks Tannehill takes and most them are NOT coverage sacks.

Do you even watch the Dolphins games? I believe that all 3 of the pro bowlers missed some playing time this season and the 2 guards that are next to them are the leagues worst. Most of the season 3 of the 5 lineman are among the worst in pro football and you can't understand why Tannehill get's sacked a lot?
