I guess it depends on what you consider luck.

- Do I think it was luck that the Patriots chose him in the 5th round? Perhaps. Belichick obviously saw something in him so there was at least something that someone liked.
- Do I think it's luck when Brady doesn't play well and they still win? No. I think that's because Belichick is a great coach and prepares his team well and makes good half time adjustments that tend to work. They won a lot of games even when Brady didn't play well because the team still played well.
- Do I think it's luck that Brady has played in 9 SuperBowls and that his TEAM won 7 of them? Absolutely not. Again, great coaching, some exceptional play from Brady and from some others, maybe a little luck here and there, but very little. The Patriots franchise has been the most dominant for years and there's a lot of reasons for that, but luck isn't one of them.
- Do I think it's luck that Brady has been able to play this long? Absolutely not. He's VERY smart. Probably one of the smartest QB's to ever play the position. He prepares extremely well both in how he takes care of his body and how he's prepares for opponents and stays away from injury. That's not luck it's preperation smarts.

So while I agree with you that he may NOT be the GOAT even though his teams have absolutely been the most successful, you can certainly make a case that he is. Not even I can argue much if you think he is. Luck has little to do with it.

Actually I think the single "luckiest" play of Tom Brady's career happened in a playoff game against the Raiders, where a new rule was invoked to allow the Patriot's season to continue where the Patriots would win their first SuperBowl with Brady as their QB, later called the tuck rule which no one had ever heard of before that play. It's still one of the worst rules they ever had in football. Brady clearly fumbled the ball, there is no doubt and would be called that way today. The fact that a stupid rule that only lasted a few seasons prevented the Raiders from winning that game was pretty damn lucky in my opinion.

On a side note, the Patriots won that game in overtime where they kicked a FG on the opening drive and the Raiders never touched the ball, a play that would not have ended the game today, so yeah Patriots and Brady were pretty lucky that year.

Tuck rule was a weird rule.  But applied properly and consistent with how it was called earlier that season.  The tuck riule is a byproduct of the competition committee tweeting the rules annually without fully understanding the impact of their tweeks.

That is factually inaccurate. Not sure where you are getting these stats from, but they are inaccurate.

And I have been successful at both my jobs.  I was promoted at one and got a big raise at the other last year, so don't go taking any untrue shots about me not being successful
