On Brady's Luck

D4L is always talking about how lucky Brady is.  I saw something that made me think I should write about it.

There was a collection of clips showing the classic goofy fuck-up of every team.  ....Dolphins when Garo throws that weird INT against the Redskins, Jets butt fumble, etc.

And I was amazed at how many of those plays came against the Patriots and Brady.  ...like...an inordinate amount.

And funny enough, the Patriots mistake was recently (without Brady) where they start lateraling it inexplicably at the end of the game and end up turning it over and losing, when it would've gone to OT.

And the Bucs example (with Brady) is when they score his 600th TD and, in a brain-fart, the receiver throws the ball up into the stands.

This video is good for watching.  It gives numbers to what everybody saw during his entire career.

The video mentions how bad teams were at kicking against him.

Plus, he went 3-0 in playoff overtime coin tosses

Then, his first year on the Bucs, in the Saints game, he gets THREE easy TD drives set up by turnovers.

Then, his second year, he gets FOUR fumbles and a missed field goal in 32 minutes against the Rams.

Then, his third year, he goes 8-9 and still makes it because Mark Ingram wimps out on the sideline

My theory as to why he get screwed by the refs so often during his career is because they subconsciously felt they had to even things out because of all breaks he got outside of the refs

Sidebar:   I think even if the Patriots had beaten the Raiders, Miami still would have won the tiebreaker over them due to common games. Miami beat Baltimore and Chicago, two teams NE lost to

I am pretty sure you could pick a team, any team, pick any 20 year span of time and find enough clips of the other team doing something stupid to make a full length video.

You could, most certainly.  But this wasn't the purpose of the video.  It was just a bunch of bonehead plays.  A lot of them, coincidentally, were against Brady.  I don't think there's fire to this smoke; I just thought it was interesting.
