There is definitely a weird story to this one. Bailey was drafted by the Pats in the 5th round and did very well his first few years, he then signed a 4 year extension and got hurt. He returned and was suspended for something to do with disagreeing about the team's treatment of his injury. This voided all of his guaranteed money. I think he's still fighting this in court.

Either way, when healthy he should be very good for us. Punter has always been very underrated. A great kick can make up for a 3 and Out.

Morestead signed with Jets today. I’m curious what he got paid because I really thought we should have brought him back. He even publicly was kind of promoting staying in Miami.

I haven't been able to see any contract terms, but I hope they haven't guaranteed him contract money.  I hate the idea of guaranteeing money to a punter that finished the season on the IR list.  Easy enough to draft a punter in the 7th round or bring in a few UFA's to compete for the job.

Morstead was a free agent. As for why the team didn't prioritize resigning/extending a 37-year-old punter, who knows?
