You've been waiting, patiently. It's easily your favorite day of the week.  Soft pretzel day, and Maine's NFL power 5.  Don't @ me, man.  I just call them like I see them and the 5th best team in the NFL, right now is...

#5: The Miami Dolphins (4-1)

Absolutely ridiculous offense.  Watching the Giants game, for a moment, I wondered if they lost a bit of momentum after a ten play script to start the game.  They don't.  The Dolphins are pretty relentless in the manner they come at you.  A very impressive item, for me, is the red zone offense.  They turn into an 80's throw back team and grind the ball into the end zone.  It'll be interesting to see how they adjust to Achane's injury, Wilson's ability to come back is good timing. The defense has some work to do but I'm not judging week eight, or fifteen.  Right now they are the 5th best team in the league.

#4:  The Detroit Lions (4-1)

Someone give Jared Goff his flowers.  The Rams couldn't get that guy out of town fast enough and I bet they would love to have him back now.  My man is tossing at a 104 QBR clip, he has only thrown three picks to nine tuddys and almost 1,300 yards.  The Lions can score some points, and they have weapons. The real story in Motor City may be the defense.  Dead last in 2022, they are currently sitting 10th in the league and 9th; EPA allowed.  Hutchinson is a BEAST, leading the league in pressures.  Fun team to watch.

#3: Kansas City Chiefs (4-1)

It wasn't sexy, but the Chiefs keep getting those dubs.  Back in the days when I covered the Patriots I would hear a common theme: "Get them early, it's your only chance."  New England used to look a lot like this, early in the season.  Weird wins, barely beating teams they should throttle.  The common thread?  A win by 30 and a win by seven, like KC did this weekend, is a win (and, on the road).  Letting this team hang around is a mistake, they only get better.  They are still the freaking Chiefs.

#2:  Philadelphia Eagles (5-0)

I'm not sure I will ever fully understand the not playing your starters, at all, in pre-season "thing."  Protect them?  Yes.  But zero play like the Eagles did with Hurts?  It's weird and, I think, took the guy until week five to fully wake up.  300 yards in the air, almost 80 on the ground, he is starting to look like the Hurts everyone expected.  I have said this a few times, I will say this again - maybe the biggest offseason move was Philly picking up Swift.  They run the ball, almost at will.  In the NFC, come December, they are going to need to.

#1:  San Francisco 49ers (5-0)

I'd like to know who any of those brain surgeon fantasy football managers were who dropped Kittle.  Seriously?  Going into week five, in Yahoo leagues, he was only owned in 81% of leagues.

Huh?

Anyway.

San Fran did San Fran things and showed the world who Dallas is.  Expect them to remain up here for a while.

That's what I have.  I expect some good discussion this week, massively subjective.  League is getting good. Go to.

I am not sold on the Lions.

I am not even comfortable with them giving points on the road.  I guess you are what you are though, so until they don't show out, I can't really complain.

The Lions confuse me as well.  They upset the defending Super Bowl champs on the road, but then lose to Seattle at home?
