I saw an interesting stat comparison between Tua and Brees over the first 4 years, with the caveat that Tua played 10 more games and has better talent at WR than Brees did in SD, Tua is better on pretty much every stat line.

I’m not saying Tua will ever be that good or that successful but if there is a QB he resembles that is it. I hope we can get a deal won because I think Tua can keep us competitive for quite a while. It’s hard and most QB’s aren’t gonna win a SB but unless some kind of blue chip falls into our lap I think this is the best bet.

I never thought I’d have QB play this good in Miami and it’s not even summer yet but I can’t wait for September because I think Miami is going to come out hot.

The sign of a great QB is bringing your team from behind and winning games against quality opponents.  It's a rarity that I see Tua do that; not in college and not in Miami.  I really hope he takes that next step this year, but until he starts winning the big games with the season on the line he's just another Dak Prescott in my book.

I mean that’s fair but it took Brees 6 years to win a playoff game took Manning forever.

He has to do better late season but there is time.

The best thing Tua has going for him is he consistently gets better. Each season he has attacked his weakness and gotten better somehow. Hopefully he continues to do so and hasn't hit his ceiling.

Yeah I think so. I respect the work the kid has put in to be better. Whatever anyone thinks of him I think that’s true of him and without a doubt he’s the best QB we have had on roster since Danny hung it up.

Most QB’s aren’t going to win SB’s but Tua and McDaniel will keep us relevant for a while with a chance to actually seal the deal and bring a trophy to South Florida.

Didn't he throw 6 TDs in Baltimore and bring the dolphins back from a 4 TD deficit  to win the game?

Didn't he march the team down the field and make a late game winning TD pass to hill in LA against the "San Diego" Chargers?

He also had game winning 4th quarter drives against Dallas, NE, Jets (twice), arizona and buffalo when we beat them in Mia.

Yes, but he only did that in games MIA eventually won, so that doesn't really prove anything.
He needed to do that (and win) in the games MIA lost.  That would prove his value.

I didn't say he never had a come from behind win.  What I said was it was "rare" for him to do it against "quality opponents".  You bring up 8 games over the course of (4) seasons, and IMO half of those weren't really quality opponents at the time.  The Dallas game last year was a great game for Tua, probably the best game I have seen him play.  Not sure what year the Baltimore game was you're referring to, but it wasn't last year because the Ravens walloped the Fins 56-19.  Same with the Buffalo game last year, with playoff seeding on the line Miami lost 21-14 to the Bills at home (only managing 2 scores in the 2nd quarter).

You're not sure what year it was when Tua threw 6 TDs against Baltimore?
You... can't remember?

Come on, man.  This is what we're talking about.
