Ok great.  If there are a lot of outlets supporting it, are you able to cite something I can read to verify?

You can Google it and AI will pop right up and answer.

As for the Tua Retirement crowd, y'all need to slow your roll.  Tua himself stated today that he is focusing on his recovery so he can get back on the field with his teammates. He is not anywhere near retiring

That's not really how forums work.  You are responsible for substantiating your claims.

I'm just trying to get the straight story because that sounds fishy.

Also, a quick Google search isn't turning up the results that you're suggesting for me.  What search term would you recommend?

Me:
Is this claim true or false:  You can have an unlimited number of concussions and not suffer brain damage as long as you fully recover from each one before getting another one.

That claim is false. Even if you seem to fully recover from individual concussions, repeated head injuries, especially over time, can still lead to cumulative brain damage. Each concussion disrupts the brain’s normal function, and while symptoms may subside, the brain remains vulnerable. There’s also the risk of second-impact syndrome, where the brain hasn’t fully healed before another injury occurs, which can lead to severe damage or even death.

Repeated concussions have been linked to long-term issues like Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), even in cases where people appeared to recover between injuries. Brain damage can accumulate even if the concussions are spaced apart and seem mild on their own. So, it's important to be cautious and limit head injuries whenever possible, regardless of how fully someone seems to recover.

Tua needs to retire before he kills himself or becomes paralyzed.  This last one wasn't even a hard hit, he hit the guy's shoulder pad and his neck and head bounced around like Jello.  There are running backs with worse hits ten times per game who don't get concussions.

He needs to seriously change or he is going to have a very, very short career.

I read he was the main motivator for the comeback against the Jags, so it is a sign that he is a real competitor and willing to lead by example to get a win...

But this is getting into Steve Young territory way to quickly for my liking. It's less so brave and more just stupid to put himself into that kind of danger, and each concussion is an acceleration to what will be the end of it all.

Maybe last season with the extra helmet padding and no issues built a false sense of security, but that is all gone now. Tua is basically a target when he comes back, hit him hard legally, get him on the ground, and that will scramble his brain again. We're not even talking about dirty hits here, just regular plays.

You just know he needs an extended time away, a good part of, or possibly even the rest of the season. Unless Skyler turns into Brady 2.0, this is going to hurt the team.

Another serious concussion on top of this though would have to be it - endgame. That's the alternative, and after all the guaranteed money in the recent contract, would we go there?
