Bandwagon jumping happens in every sport, and to every team that wins a Superbowl.  That's not news.

So a bunch of people will start buying Steelers and Seahawks jerseys and start calling themselves lifelong fans.  I say good.  More people for me to mock.  Bring 'em.

What kind of people do you guys hang around if you know for a fact they are jumping bandwagons every year? I don't know anyone who goes out and buys jerseys every time a new team is in the playoffs. I may know people who are not big sports fans and will choose to root for the Steelers this particular game, but I don't know one single person who jumps teams like people on this board claim to know.

I agree with JTex.  He isn't saying that Steeler fans aren't loyal.  ...but just like every team that pops out of nowhere, people start finding reasons to cheer for them.

For example, me -- I was born in Louisiana, and I sort of like the Saints in a half-ass way because of it.  ...but you'd never know, since they suck.  ...but if they went on a tear and were in the Super Bowl, I'd probably mention that I like the Saints because I was born there.

The Patriots are a good example.  Their fans came out of the woodwork, but how many flags, bumper stickers, etc. did you see 7 years ago?

The bandwagon fans are the people that don't have a team.  The people that claim to be a fan of a team during the preseason or regular season don't hop on bandwagons.  Its the casual fan that doesn't really watch football that hops on the bandwagon.

I'm a Seahawks fan for the next two weeks.  Am I jumping on the bandwagon?  I have been looking for a deal on a Seahawks jersey on eBay (but if you know me, I have 194839232 jersies from 30 different teams, this is no surprise).  Does this make me a bandwagon jumper?  If so, then so be it.  I know that come February 6th, my attention will be right back with the aqua and orange.

I've known people like Jtex was talking about. They are the ever loyal and faithful Tennessee Titans fans who booed them when they were the Tennessee Oilers. Back when that franchise couldnt even fill a small college stadium. After the Music City Miracle, and the Superbowl run, every one of them swore up and down that they had been Oilers fans all their lives. One guy argued with me that Steve McNair was their first black QB.  Grin He then said that Warren Moon must not have been around for very long for him not to remember him. He then tried to play it off like he was saying that McNair was the first "Titans" black QB.
